big head photographyWelcome to Big Head Photography!

Ola! First and foremost thank you for dropping by. My name is Chris, founder of Big Head Photography. I am a Toronto based wedding photographer with a very documentary/photojournalistic style. I was born in Hong Kong, but moved to Toronto at a very young age. I am happily married to an amazing and supportive woman and have been blessed with two adorable children that never fail to put a smile on my face each day. I specialize only in weddings, and am very happy to say that I love my job.

There are many different styles of wedding photography – high fashion, traditional, or even extremely posed just to name a few. My approach to weddings is to try and capture everything from a strong journalistic approach. Why? Because 90% of your day is candid and capturing these real moments are what will help you relive what actually happened during your wedding day when you look at your photos many years down the road. I have never met a couple who got teary eyed from looking at their classic overly staged dipping by the water fountain photo…because we do that all the time, right?

chris puiI don’t view shooting a wedding as a business transaction, but more so as building a stronger relationship with the couples I work with. One thing I find a lot of people fail to realize is that you must have a good connection with your photographer in order to make the most out of your wedding day. Unlike your florist, venue, or even caterer, how well you get along with your photographer makes all the difference in the world. This is the only person you hire who will be right by your side from the morning while you are getting ready, all throughout the day, and into the night when the real party starts.

My goal is to stand out above all the rest. I do not believe in simply “getting the job done”. I always try and go above and beyond for all my clients, because I believe that if you are not always striving to get better each time, you will not get very far.

And as for the million dollar question…why Big Head? Growing up my friends have always said I have a big head, and wanting to create something different I decided to incorporate that into my name. I figured it was fun, bold and original… kind of like myself!

I hope you enjoy your visit and by looking through my site you get a good feel of who I am as well as how I shoot. Feel free to send me a quick e-mail if you have any questions.
